The SRH's main missions are
- Developing financial intermediation for the financing of housing in order to reduce pressure on the State budget.
- Participating in the development of the financial market and promoting of the granting of mortgage loans by enabling banks and financial institutions to carry out this activity under favourable liquidity and guarantee conditions within a competitive environment.
- Issuing on the financial market bonds or other securities with characteristics similar to those of refinancing loans.

- Developing the standardisation of mortgage loan underwriting standards.
